The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that attracts so many people into the NFL

This outcome may have opened opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a remaining games that provides them an edge over their 8-2 rivals

Over in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a major confrontation next week, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the MVP award

Analysis - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen attempt too much or was it just a bad day for Buffalo?

Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Bills to address

The Bills had secured seven victories in a row against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the start as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening outcome - and performance

MVP Josh Allen only achieved the squad's initial first down in the third period and initial scoring in the fourth - yes Miami had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a significant failure laid by one of the NFL's best offenses

Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two touchdowns but rusher De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns

Containing the NFL's top running game was also key, with Cook and company recording just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5 yard average

Then there were the three crucial ball losses, and the two from Allen in particular. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area meaning a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to seven points just later

It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defense and Josh Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad from the situation - not the composed, disciplined, balanced Bills we've witnessed this season

The Dolphins have demonstrated a varied performances this year so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the summit of the AFC East

In Focus - Patriots Identify Route to Unexpected First Place

Speaking of the Patriots, they're one of three different 8-2 teams in the NFL, all AFC teams, but are they the top team?

You can pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and Indianapolis really for dominating the weaker opponents, with only five of their combined 24 victories achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one example was the Colts beating the Broncos

Denver defeated the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indy can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime success in Buffalo appears to be a statement

Their pair of losses came in new head coach Mike Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven consecutive wins, just like the Broncos, from that point - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to get ready was huge

Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he definitely deserves point for bravery after taking some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to guide his side to success

The defensive unit is reliable and rookie rusher TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating scores of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to break 22mph this season on his initial touchdown

Although you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the best record thanks to their schedule - which includes just a single matchup against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against the Bills

Visiting the Ravens is challenging too, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also compete for top seed but encounter the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the schedule

The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two matchups with the five and four Jaguars to contend with. There is a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is open for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference

Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Week 11 Showdown

Two teams with solid claims to be better than all of the three eight and two sides are NFC West opponents the Seattle and Los Angeles, who each scored forty points to reach seven and two before the upcoming major meeting between the pair in LA

Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Darnold playing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a contest

Both could easily be without a loss as too - especially the Rams as their pair of losses came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play deflected and returned by the Eagles for a score

Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are genuinely two of the top teams in the league

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date

Player of the Week - Taylor
