Loyal supporters of the actress are urging that a man who leaped a barrier and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared footage depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside photographers and rushing toward Grande while the performers made its way down a yellow carpet flanked by fans.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the event by guards.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being detained", though court documents showed that he was set to appear on the following morning. It is unknown if he was charged.

History of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile contains clips of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last winter.

"There needs to be action applied against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," stated an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Fans Express Concern Over Ariana's Past Trauma

Many fans accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming numerous individuals.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented another response on Instagram.

A number of supporters also criticised guards at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while others called for digital services to remove Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Event Details

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande looked surprised when she was approached by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.

Grande has not commented on the event, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

The musical itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of last year in the UK, and received a dozen award recognitions, winning two for best costume and artistic direction.
