The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his perspective on the UK education system, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

In response to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

The party, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

However, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves as opposed to what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned at school, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for children.

At the US event, Farage also vowed to promote the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I mean this. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to your online courses. I make that commitment tonight and I will follow through.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for free to all who wish to learn.”
