England’s men’s team will initiate their UEFA Euro 2028 campaign at the Manchester City’s stadium, assuming they achieve the relatively straightforward passage for a championship staged throughout the majority of the UK and the Ireland.

Manchester City’s home ground has not staged an Three Lions fixture since May 2016, when Turkey were overcome 2-1 in a friendly, but is expected to host the England side for their opening fixture on June 10, 2028.

England are scheduled to play their final two group matches at Wembley Stadium, but, in the event of winning the preliminary round, their knockout stage opener would be held at St James’ Park. Securing the runner-up spot would mean beginning the knockouts at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Championship Launch and Demonstration

The championship was inaugurated at an gathering in central London on the previous evening. High-ranking officials from Uefa and the host football associations were heckled as they approached the site by about 50 activists, who demanded Israel’s national side to be expelled from the sport because of the conflict in Gaza.

Event Schedule

Wembley will host the two semi-final matches and the title decider, which will be held on a Sunday in July 2028 with a kick-off time at late afternoon.

It is anticipated that an earlier start, which will also be adopted for UEFA Champions League finals from the following campaign, will attract families and help connect with a wider spectrum of fans.

Participating Countries

The Ireland are scheduled to play their opening match at the Dublin Arena and the Tartan Army would play similarly at Hampden Park.

Each host nation’s squad will take part in the qualification process; two guaranteed slots will be set aside for any that miss out on the tournament through that route.

Stadiums and Playoffs

Villa Park and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium finalize the nine host stadiums. All will hold at least one playoff fixture, with the quarterfinal matches held at the national stadium of each host.

The draw for the qualifiers will be conducted in Belfast, which was excluded as a venue city last year when it became clear the proposed venue could not be redeveloped in time, on 6 December 2026.
