Trump Invites Relatives of Attacked National Guard Members to the Presidential Residence

Former President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the White House.

He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Shooting

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a attack on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have occurred in their honor.

White House Invitation

The president said he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president addressed reporters. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Reaction

Attendees assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s national effort to assist public safety in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“Sarah was the kind of student that educators wished for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that lifted those around her,” the principal, the principal of her alma mater, stated to the media. “She was kind, considerate and always eager to support those in need.”

Funeral plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Legal Steps and Government Adjustments

Officials have accused a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The incident led the Trump administration to halt asylum applications and halt issuing entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, started his military career in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, as reported by the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader Morrisey said on television.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on Fox News Sunday that she planned to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with distinction, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had courage,” he informed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
