Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in a Los Angeles Traffic Collision
The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in the state of California aged 55.
The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.
The influential industry figure died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday, US media outlets report.
"We are facing a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, his family, and all those touched by his legacy," an official with Electronic Arts said.
